Hazlet Police Avert West Keansburg Suicide Threat
Hazlet Police along with Monmouth County officials helped resolve a potential suicide without violence.

HAZLET, NJ - Authorities averted a potential tragedy when just before midnight Dec. 31, police officers responded to a home in the West Keansburg area on a report that a man was suicidal and also had access to weapons, according to a post on the police Facebook page.
The Monmouth County Community Emergency Response Team (MOCERT) also was activated along with the County Rapid Deployment Force, authorities said.
Once officers reached the person's home, the officers started talking with the man and he voluntarily left the house and was transported to a emergency center.
At no time was there any threat to residents in the neighborhood, police said.
