HAZLET, NJ - Students at Hazlet Public Schools will be participating in all-virtual instruction in the days following spring break, according to a statement posted to the district website. The schedule change comes amid a slew of projected post-travel quarantines and staff shortages.

In the statement, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Scott Ridley announced that students will attend all-virtual classes on April 6 and 7. The in-person schedule will resume on Thursday, April 8.
“With over 100 staff members scheduled to receive their second vaccination shot on those days (which can cause a significant reaction) and a number of additional staff having to quarantine following travel over break, we are announcing this transition in the best interests of health & safety,” Ridley wrote.

“We have been proactive in vaccinating our staff through a program made available by the Visiting Nurses Association and they determine the scheduling of shots which has resulted in this transition to two days of virtual instruction.” Read more: Hundreds Of Holmdel, Hazlet School Staff Set To Receive COVID Vax
