HAZLET, NJ - Power outages caused by a transformer fire affected hundreds of JCP&L customers in Hazlet on Sunday, officials said.

Mayor Tara Clark announced that around 1,586 Hazlet customers were left without power Sunday afternoon. According to her statement, a transformer fire caused the outages.

The fire occurred on Holmdel Road near the Hazlet Fire House, Hazlet Deputy Chief of Police Robert Mulligan told Patch.

As of 10:20 a.m. on Monday, power was restored to all customers, according to JCP&L’s website.
