Hazlet Proposes Plan To Help Homeowners Make Upgrades
Introduces local ordinance that would postpone taxes on improvement for five years.
A homeowner who wishes to put a second story on his ranch home and reap the reward of a increasing his home value would get a five-year tax exemption from an added assessment for that improvement under new legislation introduced by the Hazlet Township Committee on May 6.Â
The proposal is part of a broader townwide rehabilitation program which officials hope will spark economic growth and property values.
A public hearing on the proposed bill will be held at 8 p.m. on May 20 at the Hazlet Township Municipal Building, 1766 Union Avenue, Hazlet.
