Heat Wave Closes Hazlet Library Until At Least July 6
The Middle Road location remains closed due to air conditioning issues, officials said. Items due through June 30 will not incur fines.
HAZLET, NJ - The Hazlet Library on Middle Road remains closed this week due to the extreme heat and issues with air conditioning in the building, officials said.
In a June 30 municipal update, the township noted that the correct parts have been ordered to fix the air conditioning unit. “We are awaiting delivery,” the notice reads.
A heat advisory was issued by the National Weather Service in Monmouth County from Monday through Wednesday this week, with temperatures approaching 100 degrees or higher each day. Thursday is expected to see lower heat indices hovering around the low-70s.
