The department received reports of vehicle theft and attempted vehicle theft on June 1 in the areas of Delwood Drive and Richards Way.

HOLMDEL, NJ - The Holmdel Township Police Department is investigating an attempted theft of a motor vehicle from a Delwood Drive driveway and the theft of a motor vehicle from Richards Way, both of which occurred Tuesday.

At around 5 p.m. on June 1, a Delwood Drive resident contacted the police department reporting that an unidentified male attempted to enter her vehicle, but was unsuccessful since it was locked. The subject then fled in a Silver Porsche Cayenne, Holmdel police wrote in a statement.

Later in the evening, the department received another call reporting a vehicle belonging to a township resident was driving “erratically” through Newark. Officers contacted the resident - who resides on Richards Way - and determined a 2021 Porsche 911 had been stolen from the residence between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m.
