Holmdel School Board Gets New President

The Holmdel school board elected officers for the year.

HOLMDEL, NJ -Four school board members took the oath of office this week for the upcoming school year after winning the Nov. 7 school board election.

Peter Reddy was sworn in for his second three-year term while Eileen Briamonte and Jamie Collins were sworn in for three-year terms. Terence Wall was sworn in for a one-year term.

The newly seated school board also elected its leadership for the year. Vicky Flynn, who is beginning her third year on the school board, was elected president and Chiung-Yin Cheng Liu, who is in the second year of her third board term, was elected board vice president.

The Holmdel Township Board of Education held its annual organization meeting Wednesday night at the William R. Satz School.

. “This is an exciting time to be a member of the board as the district begins the process of implementing the Holmdel 2020 vision to enhance the district’s facilities so we can continue to provide all Holmdel students with superior programs in academics, athletics and the arts,” the new president said. “I am confident that the board will continue to work together in a collaborative manner to bring Holmdel 2020 to fruition."

The board’s next meeting will be 8 p.m. Jan. 31 in the Satz Media Center.
