Local Twins Run Successful Fundraiser, Thank Community

A heartfelt thank you from the Harris twins to local communities.

Caroline Harris was used to going to doctors. She suffers from food allergies, and a rare allergy to cold temperatures called Cold Urticaria. But when she was a freshman at Colts Neck High School, her health took a turn for the worse.

By sophomore year, Caroline was diagnosed with Eosinophilic Gastritis, caused when the Eosinophil increases in high numbers and attacks the stomach lining.

The following is a thank you to the community from Caroline and Emily Harris:

A heartfelt "Thanks" to all of the wonderful people who came out or donated to support our 1st annual "Step by Step 5k Run/Walk" charity fundraiser on Oct. 12 to support funding research for EG.

Whether you are family, friends or strangers, we love you all dearly! The sun came out and you were all there to support our efforts to find a cure for EG.

Live music by Steve Warendorf was just outstanding & the donated raffle prizes, finish prizes, food & vendors just added the finishing touches to a perfect day. It was a great success and we look forward to hosting this charity event next year!

It's only because of "you" that we now can send our first of many hopeful donations to Cincinnati Children's Hospital for EG research.

Many thanks to the Colts Neck High School NHS students/ volunteers & administration for supporting this event.  Also, a big thanks to the Colts Neck Fire Police, CN Township and CN First Aid Squad for all their support too.

Couldn't have done this without all of you!!

If you weren't able to come out on October 12th, you can still support our established "Giving Hope" charity to research EG by going to our website: stepbystep5krun.wix.com/stepbystep5k

Donations are welcome and accepted year round :)
