Local Wolfdog Sanctuary Brings Petting Event To Holmdel

A New Jersey motorcycle club recently partnered with a Jackson-based wolfdog sanctuary to raise money for distressed military personnel.

HOLMDEL, NJ - While most charity petting zoos may include goats, horses, sheep and other typical farm animals, this local motorcycle club took it up a notch to bring a wolfdog meet-and-greet to Holmdel.

During a June 23 fundraising Bike Night event at the Texas Roadhouse of Holmdel hosted by the New Jersey Knights of the Inferno, Jackson-based Howling Woods Farm brought a few of their trained, gentle wolves for local attendees to meet the creatures.

Other features of the event - which raised funds for distressed EMS and military personnel and families - included the Cigar Box Stompers band, which used guitars made from license plates, cigar boxes, gas cans, shovels and more. The local chapter of the Elks Club displayed a new Harley Davidson motorcycle that they are currently raffling off for a children’s charity.

The New Jersey Knights of the Inferno is a nonprofit firefighter/military motorcycle club that aims to build a community of retired and active firefighters, emergency medical services, office of emergency management, military service members, their families, and select civilians who enjoy motorcycling. The club regularly hosts charity bike nights on the fourth Wednesday of every month from April to August from 7 to 10 p.m., always featuring outdoor dining and drinks, live music and vendors.
