Man Charged With DWI In Parking Lot Outside Holmdel Police HQ

A 37-year old man drew police attention after a minor accident in the lot.

A 37-year old man was arrested for alleged drunk driving Wednesday around 10 a.m. in the parking lot of Town Hall, where the municipal court and parking lot is located.

According to Holmdel Police, Stephen Acquaviva, 37, of Bonnie Dr. in Middletown lost control of his 2013 Nissan Altima outside Town Hall headquarters for an unknown reason and drove across several parking spaces and jumped a curb. 

Police said Acquaviva was not injured, an no other vehicles were damaged.

Ptl. Michael Moore arrested Acquaviva and charged him with Driving While Intoxicated and the vehicle was towed from the scene. 

Acquaviva was additionally charged with Reckless Driving, Refusal to Submit to Breath Testing and Possession of an Open Alcoholic Beverage Container.
