NJ Weekend Weather: Chance Of Thunderstorms At Jersey Shore

JERSEY SHORE - Warm temperatures are expected to hit New Jersey this week, bringing with it a possibility of thunderstorms and wind gusts up to 15 mph over the weekend.

The National Weather Service says that Friday and Sunday should have minimal chances of precipitation with sunny skies and temperatures in the mid- to high-70s, while AccuWeather predicts temperatures could rise as high as the low- to mid-80s.

Saturday, however, holds a chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible around in the afternoon and evening as temperatures reach the high 70s, AccuWeather says. The chance of precipitation is 40 percent; although, even if it does rain, “most of the day should be rain-free,” according to the National Weather Service.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 70. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming south in the afternoon.

Thursday Night: Clear, with a low around 59. South wind 5 to 10 mph.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 74. West wind 5 to 15 mph.

Friday Night: A chance of showers, mainly after 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 66. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Saturday: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 9 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 77. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

Saturday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 3 a.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 66. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 76.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 67.
