NJ Weekend Weather: Low 70s Temps, Sunny Skies At Jersey Shore

JERSEY SHORE - Summer is upon us and beach weekends are in full swing - and this weekend’s forecast is looking great so far. Sunny skies and mild temperatures in the high 60s to 70s range are expected to hit New Jersey this week with low chances of any rainfall.

The National Weather Service says that, while there’s a chance of showers and thunderstorms on Thursday between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and Friday between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m., and again in the evening, Saturday and Sunday are looking mostly sunny.

If you are heading to the beach this weekend, make sure to pack some extra sunscreen: the UV index is slated to be extreme on Saturday and very high on Sunday, according to AccuWeather.

Thursday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 73. Northeast wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Thursday Night: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m., then a slight chance of thunderstorms after 5am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 60. East wind around 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Friday: A chance of showers after 8 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 69. East wind around 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Friday Night: A slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 60. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 70.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 60.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 70.

Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 63.
