Storm-force winds of 45 to 55 mph with gusts up to 75 mph jolted the area, sweeping tree limbs and outdoor furniture into the streets. Manalapan police reported several incidents of trees and wires down, as well as out-of-service traffic lights.

“Please do not travel unless absolutely necessary,” wrote the police department in a social media post. “Please do not take this time to walk your dog in front of your home. We have crews working to clear the roadways and make repairs. Everyone please stay safe.”
