Hazlet, NJ - As of 1 p.m. Sunday, power had been restored to most Hazlet residents, local police said.

Thousands lost power in Monmouth and Ocean counties Sunday, as wind gusts of up to 71 mph were recorded in Monmouth County, according to the National Weather Service. Those high winds brought down trees and power lines. Traffic lights were out at Middle & Poole, Hwy 36 & Poole, and Hwy 36 & Seagate Sunday in Hazlet.
