Report: Driver Uninjured, Road Closed After Car Strikes Pole

A driver walked away uninjured after hitting a pole on Bethany Road in Holmdel on Monday, a report in the Asbury Park Press said.

The driver, William Asman, 31, of Neptune, struck the pole as he was driving eastbound on Bethany at 5:01 p.m., according to the report. The road was closed for about 11 hours as Verizon and Jersey Central Power and Light crews repaired the pole and the wiring it carried, law enforcement sources told the newspaper.
