Residents Evacuated After Deercrest Drive Fire on Wednesday

Police said an investigation revealed faulty wiring in the home. No injuries were reported.

Two residents were evacuated in Holmdel on Wednesday after heavy smoke conditions were reported in a Deercrest Drive home.

Police responded to the home around 9 a.m., dispatched along with Holmdel Fire #1, Holmdel Fire #2 and Holmdel First Aid.

Police said officers Matt Menosky and Michael Moore were first on the scene and reported heavy smoke near the master bedroom. The officers evacuated residents Karen and Leo Slobodin before controlling the fire with extinguishers.

Police said an investigation revealed faulty wiring in the home. No injuries were reported.
