Sandy Damaged Over 60 Homes in Holmdel and Hazlet
Keansburg saw even more destruction, with 1,335 homes damaged by the storm.

Sandy inflicted damage on twelve homes and rental units in Holmdel and fifty in Hazlet, according to an analysis of New Jersey Department of Community Affairs data by NJSpotlight.com.Â
One Holmdel rental unit reportedly suffered minor damages from the historic storm, however twelve homes suffered "major" damage, defined as between $8,000 and $28,800 in storm costs. Damage under $8,000 was considered "minor." Severe damage--defined as over $28,800 in costs--was not reported to any Holmdel homes.
Hazlet reported four homes and fourteen rental units with minor damage, twenty five houses and three rentals with major damage and four houses with severe damage.

Keansburg, by contrast, saw 1,335 homes damaged by Sandy, including 145 houses and 44 rentals with severe damage, 497 houses and 209 rentals with major damage, and 440 rentals with minor damage.
The report shows that 694 Holmdel businesses, 810 Hazlet businesses and 261 Keansburg businesses indicated they were impacted by Sandy.

The average Federal Emergency Management Agency damage inspection came in at $1,207.93 in Holmdel, where 191 homeowners sought FEMA assistance. It was $1,406.38 in Hazlet, where 317 homeowners sought assistance, according to FEMA data. And in Keansburg, the average inspection came to $10,209.96, with 1,432 who sought assistance.
