Tony-Award Winning Actress Returns To Holmdel Theatre Company
Tony-award winning Alice Ripley will take the stage in Holmdel at the end of the month, as Holmdel Theatre Company does "The Pink Unicorn."

HOLMDEL, NJ — Tony-award winning actress Alice Ripley will take the stage right here in Holmdel at the end of the month, as Holmdel Theatre Company presents "The Pink Unicorn" Jan. 30 and 31 at the Duncan Smith Theater, a 125-year-old barn converted into a black box theater on Crawfords Corner Road.
Tickets are $50 and are on sale now. The play will be directed by Amy E. Jones. Both shows will be at 8 p.m.
In the play, Ripley reprises her groundbreaking role of Trisha Lee, a Christian widow living in a conservative Texas town. Her life is suddenly upended when her 14-year-old daughter Jolene announces she is “genderqueer” and starting a chapter of the Gay and Straight Alliance at the local high school. Throughout the play, Trisha recounts her story about facing a crisis she never saw coming, at a time when transgender people and gender issues weren't even on her radar.
