Four-Vehicle Collision In Holmdel Leaves Two Hospitalized: PD
Two individuals remain hospitalized following a Wednesday morning collision involving four vehicles on Route 35, Holmdel police said.

HOLMDEL, NJ - Two individuals remain hospitalized following a Wednesday morning collision involving four vehicles on Route 35.
On April 7 at about 10 a.m., Holmdel police officers responded to the intersection of Route 35 and Laurel Avenue for a report of a four car collision, a spokesperson from the Holmdel Township Police Department told Patch.
A Honda CRV, traveling northbound on Route 35, went through a red traffic signal and struck a Honda Accord traveling on Laurel Avenue, causing the Accord to strike the center barrier. The Honda CRV then struck a second vehicle, causing minimal damage, and continued across Route 35, went off the roadway and struck a parked vehicle in the Valley National Bank parking lot.

Holmdel Rescue and First Aid responded to the scene to extricate two passengers from the Honda Accord. The driver was flown by medivac helicopter and the passenger was transported by ambulance to Jersey Shore Medical Center. Both are currently listed in stable condition, Holmdel police said.
The accident closed the highway southbound from Centerville Road and northbound from Palmer Avenue, Holmdel police said. According to the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT), all lanes of Highway 35 were closed and detoured at Centerville Road.

As of 2:09 p.m., all lanes were reopened at Centerville Road. Residual delays remain, according to the NJDOT.
