1K+ Without Power In Howell, Cooling And Charging Center Open

The cooling center will be set up at the Howell Senior Center for those impacted by power outages from Tuesday's storm.

HOWELL, NJ - Howell Township has sent up a cooling center in light of the ongoing heat wave, officials said.

The cooling center will be set up at the Howell Senior Center at 251 Preventorium Road. It will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 7 for those impacted by ongoing power outages caused by Tuesday night’s storm.

In Howell, 1,172 (5.49 percent of customers in the township) households are still without electricity as of Wednesday morning, part of a total 3,521 households left without power in Monmouth County. JCP&L expects utilities to be restored by mid-afternoon.
