All Howell Students Under 18 Now Eligible For Free School Lunches
The district recently received approval to extend the provision of free school breakfasts and lunches until Dec. 31.
HOWELL, NJ – All Howell Township K-8 students will now be able to receive a no-cost nutritious breakfast and lunch on all school days until December 31st, according to the school district website.
In order for children to receive two free meals for five days a week, parents must register them online. Applicants can complete this enrollment form by Sept. 10.
“We were advised on September 2 that New Jersey received approval on their waiver request to allow us to extend the provision of nutritious school breakfasts and lunches to all school district residents (under 18 years of age) at no cost on all school days up to December 31,” wrote the district on its website.

While the district had already implemented a plan to deliver five breakfast and five lunch packages every Wednesday to those families already enrolled in the USDA program and those requesting it on a paid basis, the meals will now be offered free of charge.
“We will extend the service up to our capacity to deliver,” wrote the district. “If requests exceed our ability we will shift to a pick up model as we did last spring. If you already enrolled as a paid subscriber you do not need to respond your account will not be charged.”
