No Marching In 2021 Farmingdale Memorial Day Parade: Officials
Although marching will not be permitted during this year's celebration, the parade route has expanded to include many municipal streets.
FARMINGDALE, NJ - The annual Memorial Day Parade in Farmingdale will look decidedly different due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a municipal alert, as marching will not be allowed in order to properly meet social distancing guidelines.
The borough-wide event will kick off this year at 1 p.m. on May 31 at Southard Avenue and Academy Street (see the full route below).
Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the parade will be a ride-only event (without marching) to allow for social distancing. The parade route has been expanded and will traverse many borough streets to ensure that residents can view the parade safely, according to a municipal announcement.
