Heavy Rain Floods Streets In Monmouth County Thursday: VIDEO
The flooding led to road closures on some towns, according to residents and authorities.

Monmouth County motorists were faced with flooded roads in towns across the county on Friday afternoon in the wake of a storm that brought torrential downpours.
Earlier downpours Friday morning caused street flooding in a number of areas, as a deluge that hit about 10:15 a.m. poured more water on the streets than storm drains could handle.
That continued in the afternoon and led to closures of Route 66 in Neptune and Aldrich Road between Howell and Jackson.

The National Weather Service, which issued the warning, said the storm is packing winds of up to 40 mph and rainfall that is at times torrential, creating the possibility of flash flooding as the rainwater overwhelms storm drains. Lighting and thunder are possibilities as well due to areas of thunderstorms within the system.
