Get Gas, Food, Charge Your Phone During Power Outage In Howell

For those waiting for power to be restored, here's where you can go to get some relief.

HOWELL, NJ — For those still waiting for power to be restored following Monday's storm (more than 16,000 homes and businesses in Howell are still out, according to Jersey Central Power & Light) there are places you can go for basics while you wait.

Jersey Central Power & Light has said it may take a few days to get power restored to everyone because of the extent and severity of the damage caused by Monday's storm, which packed winds of more than 70 mph.

If you're unable to cook at home because you have electric appliances or you need gasoline for your generator or your vehicles and a place to charge up your electronics, here are some options.

Quick Chek, 4253 Route 9, Howell

One resident who went there said the store was packed Tuesday afternoon and cars were waiting on Route 9 to get into the lot to get gasoline.

Connie's Restaurant, Main Street, Farmingdale

The restaurant is open until 3 p.m. for hot meals.

Twin Pond Farm, 1473 Route 9 North, Howell

They have prepared meals and the country market is open until 6 p.m.

Freehold Raceway Mall, Freehold

The mall has electricity and is operating normally, officials confirmed.

Head south to Ocean County.

Stores, restaurants and gas stations from Chambers Bridge Road in Brick on south to Toms River are open and operating normally.
