Help Give Back in Howell With Patch

With Christmas less than a week away and 2014 just around the corner there are lots of people in our area who are in need of anything from warm clothing to food and more.

That’s why at Patch we started our Giving Back blog. This can be a place to share information about events you or your organization are holding to help those less fortunate during the holiday season and beyond. The National Weather Service is calling for an absolutely beautiful day on Friday with lots of sunshine and a high of 52, a nice change of pace from the snow that we have experienced over the past week. The low is expected to drop to around 42 tonight with a 20 percent chance of showers. Showers remain possible throughout the weekend including on Sunday when the high is expected to be around 67 degrees.

On this date in 1803 the Louisiana Purchase was completed in a formal ceremony in New Orleans. Thomas Edison demonstrated his incandescent light for the first time in Menlo Park on this date in 1879 and the movie “It’s a Wonderful Life,” had a preview showing on this date in 1946.
