Howell Area Schools Closed; Town Issues Plowing Reminders
Residents are urged to get vehicles off the streets for more efficient plowing and to stay off the roads if at all possible.

HOWELL, NJ — Howell and Farmingdale students will be off from school Thursday, Jan. 4, as schools are closed due to the impending storm.
Officials in the Howell Township, Farmingdale, Freehold Regional High School District and at St. Veronica school announced the closures Wednesday night, after the National Weather Service issued a blizzard warning for the area. As much as 6 inches of snow and wind gusts to 50 mph are possible.
In addition to the school closures, the Howell PAL before- and after-care program is canceled.

Howell schools and Farmingdale school have two emergency closure days built into the school calendar. The Freehold Regional High School District has three emergency closure days built in.
In addition to the school closures, Howell officials are urging residents to move all vehicles, basketball hoops and other items off the roads for plowing, and to stay off the roads if at all possible.

"Travel will be very dangerous to impossible, including during the morning commute on Thursday. Tree branches could fall as well," Howell officials said in a notification.
