Howell Council Approves $1.06M Land Purchase
The ordinance passed Tuesday evening will preserve a 34.8-acre property on Fort Plains Road currently owned by United Talmudical Academy.
HOWELL - The Howell Township Council approved an ordinance to purchase a $1.06 million parcel of land on Fort Plains Road Tuesday night.
The ordinance, introduced at an Aug. 11 meeting by Councilman Thomas Russo, aims to obtain a 34.8 acres from United Talmudic Academy. The motion was passed unanimously (councilwoman Pamela Richmond was absent).
The funds to purchase are available through Howell's Open Space and Recreation Trust Fund. The land is slated to be preserved as open space, according to meeting documents.

A maximum of $14,000 will be included in the total budget for engineering costs, legal fees and other expenses and improvements.
