Howell Fire Companies' Santa Visits Underway
If you hear sirens on some of the upcoming evenings, it may just be the firefighters giving St. Nick an escort.

HOWELL, NJ — If your kids are hoping to catch a glimpse of Santa Claus as he makes his annual visits around Howell Township, they're getting underway Sunday evening.
Southard Fire Department No. 1 posted to Facebook that it will begin its run at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10.
They will head north on Route 9 and take the U-turn toward Jackson and work their way south from Aldrich Road.

"This will include (the) Aldrich Drive neighborhood, Glen Arden, Derringer Drive neighborhood, and we will continue south as far as we can," the post said. "We ESTIMATE ending somewhere around New Friendship Road, maybe completing Alden Terrace neighborhood. We will post our tracking link shortly before go-time and as a reminder we CANNOT do tight cul-de-sacs or dead end streets, so please come meet us at the main road."
"If you don't get to see us today, don't worry, we will be out all week," the post said. Southard will be making its visits through next Sunday, Dec. 17

According to the Howell Happenings NJ Facebook page, the other fire companies will be escorting Santa Claus on the following dates:
Saturday, Dec. 16: Adelphia Fire Company will be driving Santa from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Sunday, Dec. 17: Freewood Acres Fire Company will escort Santa starting at 10 a.m.
Wednesday, Dec. 20, Thursday, Dec. 21: Farmingdale Fire Department. The time has not yet been announced but will be announced on the department's Facebook page.
Saturday, Dec. 23: Ramtown Fire Company will begin at 10 a.m. They will be collecting nonperishable food for the Howell
Saturday, Dec. 23: Squankum Fire Company No. 1 will start at 9 a.m. and post its route on its Facebook page.
