Howell Home, Neighboring Residences Damaged In Oak Hill Fire
Multiple homes on Citation Street in Howell sustained damage during a weekend structure fire, authorities said.

HOWELL, NJ - A residential structure fire in Howell left multiple houses damaged on Sunday, police said.
The blaze was reported on Citation Street in the Oak Hill development near West Farms Road.
“A vehicle parked alongside the residence was destroyed as well. The neighboring homes sustained damage,” Howell police wrote in a statement on social media. It was not immediately clear how many homes were damaged.

All occupants evacuated safety and there were no injuries reported.
The New Jersey Red Cross issued a statement on Sunday announcing that disaster volunteers assisted a family of three at the Citation Street home by providing temporary lodging, food and clothing.

An unrelated blaze was reported on the Garden State Parkway Sunday afternoon, which shut down all travel on the GSP for over seven hours.
The 170-mile brush fire damaged 29 homes in the Brick Lake Park neighborhood in Brick Township. Route 70 also was shut down, and stores on both sides of the highway evacuated.
The fire also forced authorities to shut down all travel on the Garden State Parkway for more than seven hours Sunday, leaving drivers trapped by the shutdown to have to turn around in the northbound lanes or drive across the median to get to an exit.

Last week, a fire on Alex Drive in Farmingdale left one home completely uninhabitable.
"The blaze was so intense the woods caught on fire, a shed and fence two houses down began to burn," authorities said. "While the main house was a complete loss, other houses were saved. It was a collaborative effort amongst all of us. Residents, firefighters and police working together to help each other. We are all 'committed to community.'"
