Howell Kicking Off Holidays With Christmas Tree, Menorah Lighting

Ever wondered what it would be like to be inside a giant snowglobe? Find out at the festivities.

HOWELL, NJ — Howell Township officials are inviting residents to join them in kicking off the holiday season at the annual lighting of the township's Christmas tree and menorah.

The festivities are set for Monday, Dec. 5, at the township's municipal building, 4567 Route 9 North, and begin at 6 p.m.

Because there is limited parking at the municipal building, shuttles will be available to transport residents from the Howell Commons Shopping Center, with the buses departing from the area closest to Dress Barn, officials said.

If it rains, the festivities will be postponed to Wednesday, Dec. 7, officials said. Accuweather is forecasting clear skies for Monday evening so rain should not be an issue. Temperatures are predicted to drop into the mid-40s by the time of the tree lighting, according to Accuweather.

The event is sponsored in part by Quick Chek, BJ's Wholesale Club, Starbucks, and Wendy's, officials said.
