Howell PAL To Offer Full Day Childcare Program For Fall
Amid uncertainty over what schools may look like come September, Howell PAL unveiled a full day childcare program for district families.
HOWELL, NJ – As school districts continue the conversation over what classes may look like come September, some families are also seeking clarity into what the next few months will bring, namely where working parents will place their children if instructed to learn remotely. Earlier this month, the Howell Township Police Athletic League (PAL) unveiled a new full-day childcare program to curb some concerns in the community.
The new program will serve children ages 5 to 13 and is slated to run Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The service will be located at the Southard School Community Enrichment Center, with additional locations to be announced at a later date. Virtual and remote learning times will be provided, according to a release.
More information about all the athletic league’s programming will be announced as soon as the Howell Township School District finalizes its reopening plans.

“The PAL goal as schools reopen is to provide students and parents the confidence necessary to allow for a return to ended childcare with an added remote learning opportunity while also ensuring the health and safety of everyone in all of our locations,” the PAL wrote in a statement. “Our administrators, nurse consultant and staff will take every precaution to care for your children in a safe environment.”
Howell PAL will continue to offer its usual programs, such as full day preschool, before school care and afterschool care. The organization is in direct communication with the Howell Township School District, as well as representatives from Gov. Murphy’s office, the New Jersey Department of Children and Families and the Monmouth County Health Department.
