Howell Police Officer Injured In Weekend Vehicle Crash
The weekend collision occurred after a car pulled out in front of a patrol cruiser on East Aldrich Road, according to the department.
HOWELL, NJ - An officer from the Howell Township Police Department sustained injuries during a weekend car collision, authorities said in a recent social media post.
The collision occurred during the evening hours of Dec. 20 after a car pulled out in front of a patrol cruiser on East Aldrich Road.
“This evening, a Howell police officer was involved in a collision. Sergeant Popek was east on East Aldrich Road when a vehicle pulled out in front of him from Salem Hill Road,” the post reads.

Sgt. Popek suffered “minor injuries” and was transported to an area hospital following the incident The other driver - who was not immediately identified by the department - did not require medical attention, the post continued.
“She was found to be at fault,” the department said. “We thank the witnesses that remained on the scene to assist and provide statements to the investigating officers.”
