Howell Presenting Feral Cat Trap-Neuter-Return Program

The program is a humane way of managing the feral cat population; a microchipping program for pet cats is Saturday, April 7.

HOWELL, NJ — The Associated Humane Society will conduct a public meeting on Wednesday, April 4, at 7 p.m. to explain the new Howell Township Trap Neuter Return program, the township announced.

The TNR program specifically addresses the growing feral cat population in a humane way. Feral cats are trapped, spayed or neutered, and returned to the community to live in managed colonies. Associated Humane Society representatives will be on hand for questions and answers. The meeting is in the township's main administration building, 4567 Route 9 North.

To prevent any Howell Township pet cats being trapped within the TNR program, the township is partnering with the humane society to offer a discounted cat microchipping clinic. The clinic will be held on Saturday, April 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Public Works Garage, 278 Old Tavern Road.
