Howell Schools Announce Delayed Opening
Breaking: The potential for serious ice conditions in the morning has led to the delay.

HOWELL, NJ — Citing lingering effects of the winter storm that blew through the region on Tuesday, officials in the Howell Township and Freehold Regional High School districts have announced delayed openings for the schools on Wednesday.
Both districts will be operating on 90-minute delayed openings on Wednesday, officials said.
For the Freehold Regional High School District, the delayed opening means classes at the three early schools — Freehold, Howell, Manalapan — will begin at 9 a.m., while the late schools — Colts Neck, Freehold Township and Marlboro — will begin at 9:55 a.m.

Howell Township emergency management officials said falling temperatures that are expected to remain below freezing likely will cause roads to become icy and hazardous. Township crews are treating the roads but drivers should "provide yourself additional time to travel during the overnight and morning commute," officials said in a Nixle alert.
In addition, St. John Vianney High School, Holmdel, announced a 2-hour delayed opening. Students who drive should not arrive before 9:15 a.m.
