Howell Summer Camp Registration Starts Soon

Whether you want to keep teens occupied with summer trips or younger children need supervision while you work, take a look.

HOWELL, NJ — Howell Township will be opening registration soon for is 2019 summer camp programs.

The camps run July 1 to Aug. 2, 2019, with times varying by program.

Registration is available in person from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays through Fridays starting April 1. Registration also is available online at Howell Recreation (convenience charges apply).

There will be special in-person registration available from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 26 and on Friday, May 31. Cash, checks, and credit cards are accepted; convenience charges apply to credit card payments.

Summer camp at Howell's middle schools is for children who have completed kindergarten through fifth-graders and runs from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

Students who attend Adelphia, Ardena, Griebling, Land O'Pines, Memorial or Newbury schools go to the camp at Middle School North, and those who attend Aldrich, Greenville, Ramtown, or Taunton go to the camp at Middle School South.

Early registration is $300 and is available from April 1-April 26; the registration fee increases to $325 from April 29-May 31 and after May 31 there is a $25 late fee.

Special events and trips require additional fees. Calendars will be available in mid-June. There is a packet parents of special needs children must fill out: Special Needs Packet

Counselor In Training Registration

If you have a teen who would like to become a camp counselor, Howell's summer program offers supervision while they assist with younger children. The counselor-in-training program is open to 14- and 15-year-olds on a first-come, first-served basis and fills up quickly. The program is from 8:25 a.m.-2:45 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

Registration is $125 from April 1-April 26, $150 from April 29-May 31. Check out the CIT Brochure.

Teen Expedition Registration

Teen Expedition is a limited supervision program for teens that includes a variety of trips for students who have completed sixth grade through high school seniors.

The registration fee is $175 from April 1-26, $200 from April 29-May 31 and there is an additional $25 late fee after May 31. All trips require additional fees and waiver forms and trip payments and waiver forms must be submitted by May 31.

Among the trips are:

  • Six Flags Great Adventure
  • Hurricane Harbor
  • Arcades
  • Indoor Rock Climbing
  • Swimming
  • Paintball
  • Bowling
  • iPlay America
  • River Tubing
  • Trampoline Park
  • Party Deck @ Lakewood BlueClaws

Team Adventure

Team Adventure is a program with limited supervision for special needs teens and adults. Trips leave from and return to Alfred C. Sauer Park at Echo Lake. All trips will require additional costs and MUST be paid for in person/mail by May 31. Waiver forms must be submitted by then as well.

Registration is $200 from April 1-April 26, $225 from April 29-May 31. An additional $25 late fee is charged after May 31.
