Howell Teams Square Off For Girls 6th-7th Grade Basketball Title

HOWELL, NJ -- In the battle for Howell basketball supremacy, Howell -- and good sportsmanship -- was the winner.

The Howell Middle School North and South teams faced off for the 6th and 7th grade basketball championship recently, with the North girls coming away with the victory.

But observers said the South girls did not give up without a fight -- or without showing their heart.

“Both teams have the best sportsmanship and played with so much heart,” said Lori DeLuca-Conte, who shared the postgame photo of the teams together with the Patch.

“They hugged at the end and took the time to take a dual team picture. Truly an amazing group of girls,” she wrote.
