Ivy League Reopens For Takeout Dinners In Howell

HOWELL, NJ — If you've been wishing for an Ivy League burger, you're in luck: the restaurant is reopening for curbside takeout on Monday.

The Ivy League Bar and Grill announced it will be open from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., offering service for the first time since March 19, when it shut down operations as restrictions tightened across the state to help slow the spread of the coronavirus.

That closure was three days after Gov. Phil Murphy limited restaurants to pickup or delivery service only, shutting down all dine-in service.

The Ivy League then announced it was closing completely to protect its employees and families as well as its customers.

In recent days, Murphy has been talking about easing restrictions — he reopened state parks over the weekend, and other measures are expected to be eased in coming days. The restaurant has menu available on its website, and available on its Facebook page as well.

"We can’t wait to wave to you through the windows!" the restaurant owners said in the announcement on Facebook.
