Local Artists Featured in Brookdale Arts Showcase

Art lovers are invited to a free opening reception for the new exhibition "Honoring Summer II" at Brookdale Community College on June 26.

The Center for Visual Arts (CVA) at Brookdale Community College will host a free opening reception for its new exhibition “Honoring Summer II” on Friday, June 26 at 6 p.m. on the Lincroft campus.

The show includes dozens of paintings, photography, mixed media and other visual artwork from 12 local artists, including Brookdale students, faculty and alumni.

Featured artists include award winning Fair Haven-based visual artist Jill Kerwick and photographer and graphic designer John Viggiano, founder of the Collective Art Tank of Asbury Park.

The show, running from June 24 to July 29, is part of an annual effort by CVA staff to engage and inspire community members and local students taking summer courses at Brookdale.

“This year’s show is an especially dynamic mix of collage, paintings, photography and other work by some of the best visual artists in our area,” said Brookdale art professor Marie Maber.
