What about fireworks?
Howell Township does not have a fireworks display on the Fourth of July but there are places nearby where you can watch the skies light up for the holiday.

On Sunday, July 3, Freehold Raceway will be hosting a celebration with live music, vendors and fireworks at dusk at the track, 130 Park Ave., Freehold. There is a rain date of July 10.

If you're looking for a celebration at the beach, Long Branch will have its annual Fourth of July Celebration on Monday, July 4. There will be vendors, bands, exhibits, food, and of course, fireworks. It will be held rain or shine on the Oceanfront Promenade.
Jenkinson's Boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach also will have fireworks on July 4. Just plan to arrive early as parking fills up quickly on the Fourth.
