Mayor Gotto Welcomes Xscape Theaters to Howell With Ceremony
"New business is our lifeblood...this is the one we've been targeting for a long time."

Howell now presents its feature presentation: a theater you don’t have to drive out of town for.
Mayor Gotto and the Howell Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony Friday to mark the opening of Xscape Theaters, now the only movie theater in town.
“New business is our lifeblood,” Gotto said at the ceremony. “We get a lot of new businesses that come to town, but I gotta say this is the one we’ve been targeting for a long time.”

Gotto said the move is big for Howell, not just for convenience but also as a means of keeping people in town while competing with others. He also touched on the collaboration required to get the theater planned and built.
“Every group within the town is part of this, we’ve used every resource we had to get this open,” Gotto said. “I’m really looking forward to coming here with my family, as is everybody else.”
