Monmouth Co. Parks To Host Freshwater Fishing Derby This Month
Anglers of all experience levels can test their skills and learn new ones at the Freshwater Fishing Derby this June. See below to register:

HOWELL, NJ - Calling all anglers!
The Monmouth County Park System will host its Freshwater Fishing Derby on June 19 and 20, and fishermen, women and children of all experience levels are welcome to join in on the fun.
Starting on June 19 at the Manasquan Reservoir in Howell, the derby will begin with a hands-on fishing clinic from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. where participants will learn how to cast and rig. The derby proper will be held from 2 to 5 p.m.

On June 20, anglers will test their skills at Turkey Swamp Park in Freehold with another free hands-on fishing clinic from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. followed by the fishing derby from 2 to 5 p.m.
Prizes will be awarded each day for the longest fish caught in several categories.

Pre-registration is suggested; walk-ins are welcome. Anglers can bring their own fishing pole or rent one for $5. The cost of each day of the fishing derby is $25 per family of four or $8 per person. A container of worms is included with each registration. On-site registration is cash or check only.
