Monmouth County Senior Art Show Calls For Submissions
Professional and nonprofessional artists ages 60 and older are eligible to participate.
FREEHOLD, NJ – Calling local senior artists: the countywide virtual art show is looking for submissions.
Monmouth County's 2020 Senior Art Show, which will be held in a virtual format, is currently seeking applications through Sept. 4. This year, only digital applications will be accepted. According to Freeholder Lillian G. Burry, liaison to the Monmouth County Library System, the awards will be live streamed on the Monmouth County Library website and the Monmouth Arts Facebook page on Wednesday, Aug. 12 at 12 p.m.
Monmouth Arts will produce a short digital video highlighting the 2020 winners of the art show. The first place winners of the virtual exhibit will advance to the 54th Annual New Jersey State Senior Art Show.

“The Senior Art Show is always an enjoyable event that we do not want to delay due to unpredicted circumstances,” Burry wrote in a July 14 statement.
To be eligible to participate, one must:

- Be a professional or non-professional visual artist age 60 or older
- Be a Monmouth County resident
- Submit one piece of original artwork completed in the last three years
- Submit a piece that has not previously been submitted to a county Senior Citizen Art Show or the New Jersey State Senior Citizen Annual Juried Art Contest and Exhibition
“We invite all Monmouth County seniors to partake in the 2020 Senior Art Show, which will be virtually held this year due to the coronavirus pandemic,” said Freeholder Deputy Director Susan M. Kiley, liaison to the Monmouth County Office on Aging. “This is a wonderful program that the County did not want to postpone, as numerous seniors partake in the County Art Show to display their talents and beautiful work.”
The virtual gallery is presented by the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders, the Monmouth County Office on Aging, the Monmouth County Library System and Monmouth Arts.
