Neptune City Man Dies In Howell Twp Motorcycle Crash: MCPO
Paul J. Shamblin, 49, was killed Saturday after his Harley-Davidson motorcycle collided with a pickup truck on Herbertsville Road.
HOWELL, NJ - A motorcyclist from Neptune City died Saturday afternoon after colliding with a pickup truck on Herbertsville Road in Howell, authorities said.
Around 12:23 p.m. on June 5, Paul J. Shamblin, 49, was heading northbound on a 2003 Harley-Davidson Fatboy when his vehicle entered the southbound lane and collided with a 2008 Ford F550 truck, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.
The crash occurred between Route 547 and Newtons Corner Road.

Shamblin’s family has since set up a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for burial costs. An online post detailing the fundraiser says Shamblin, who suffered from epilepsy and did not have life insurance, ran into an issue that is still unknown on June 5.

“He ran into a still unknown issue that caused him to cross the yellow line and be thrown from his bike into the other lane,” Shamblin’s family wrote. “A truck hit him a killed him instantly. Thankfully, he did not suffer.”
“We plan to have him cremated as he wished,” the post continues. “I want to thank all people that have reached out to pay their condolences to my family and I. We appreciate all of you more than you know while we are going through one of the hardest of times.”
