Over 1.8K Howell Residents Without Power Monday Morning

More than 1,900 customers are without electricity in Monmouth County, according to JCP&L. Howell is the hardest hit, with over 1,800 out.

HOWELL, NJ – Amid an excessive heat warning throughout the state, with temperatures expected to rise up to almost 100 degrees Fahrenheit, many Howell residences reported power outages early Monday morning.

Over 1,900 Monmouth County residents were left without power on July 20 just before 10 a.m., according to JCP&L, with Howell residents representing 1,800 of those affected. You can see JCP&L's power map here: http://outages.firstenergycorp.com/nj.html

“The Office of Emergency Management is aware of a power outage affecting some JCP&L customers in northwest portions of Howell Township,” reads a statement posted to the township website early Monday morning. “ We have received an estimated ETA for restoration of within two hours.”

Residents without power are instructed to call 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877 to report an outage.

  • Howell Police Athletic League, 115 Kent Road (at the corner of Lanes Mill Road)
  • Howell Community Church, 1554 Maxim Southard Road (at the corner of Victory Road)
  • Ardena Baptist Church, 593 Adelphia Road (near Fairfield Road)
