Over 15,000 Without Power In Howell Tuesday Afternoon

139,494 customers are without electricity in Monmouth County, according to JCP&L. Over 15,000 residences are out of power in Howell.

HOWELL, NJ – As of 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, over 139,490 customers are without electricity in Monmouth County, according to JCP&L. Howell is one of the hardest hit, with nearly 15,000 (71.13% of customers) affected in the township.

In advance of the storm, Gov. Phil Murphy declared a state of emergency earlier Tuesday morning. State police urge residents to stay home and off the roads unless travel is necessary.

3-6 inches of rainfall is expected in the region. A flash flood watch is in effect: Expect flooding in low-lying areas that typically do so.

The Howell Police Department reminds residents that calls to dispatch should be reserved for emergencies only. Residents are urged to report any power outages by calling JCP&L at 1 (888) 544-4877.
