PHOTOS: Ducklings Trapped In Water Grate Rescued By Howell FD

Seven ducklings trapped inside a stormwater grate near the Route 9 Walmart were rescued by members of Southard Fire Department.

HOWELL, NJ - Seven ducklings trapped inside a storm water grate near the Route 9 Walmart were rescued by members of Southard Fire Department.

The Monmouth County SPCA initially requested the rescue effort on Thursday evening, the fire department wrote in a Facebook post.

Responders promptly opened up the storm drain to retrieve seven ducklings that fell through the grate. An SPCA Officer used a duck call to gather the ducklings into a net.
