Stabbing At Howell Banquet Hall Leaves 3 Hospitalized

Three men were left with "significant injuries" following a large party at the event space, police said. One suspect may still be at large.

HOWELL, NJ - An event at a Howell Township banquet hall on Alexander Avenue ended in violence on Saturday as three men were found stabbed, authorities said.

At approximately 12:10 p.m. on June 19, Howell police responded to a report of multiple people stabbed at Rodina Hall. Upon arrival, responders were faced with a “chaotic scene,” in which three male victims were found with “significant injuries” as a result of being stabbed.

All three stabbing victims were transported to a local trauma center. One still remains admitted and is expected to survive.

Three suspects fled the scene of the large party, and a 17-year-old Lakewood resident and 44-year-old Paterson resident were detained shortly after being spotted along Route 9, authorities said.

Three canines and an infrared drone were dispatched to search for the third suspect, but yielded no results. Howell police say there may or may not have been a third person involved, according to a statement posted to social media.

Officers from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Crime Scene and Major Crimes units responded and assisted with processing the scene and conducting interviews that included language translation. Howell police also thanked Lakewood Police and Jackson EMS for their assistance.

This investigation is ongoing. No charges have been filed as of Sunday.

Rodina Hall is described as a Russian cultural center and creative youth center, according to its Facebook page.
