A Fair Haven Christmas Gift Story

The following Christmas Eve story about a true random holiday act of kindness comes from Laura at TweedleDee Antiques in Fair Haven:

It was late in the day at TweedleDee Antiques in Fair Haven, most customers had finished their shopping and a young woman was at the cash wrap with a few small purchases which included a Christmas bell.

She handed me a credit card, informing me it was a brand new card. I swiped it thru and it came back "not yet authorized." She was crestfallen, as she was on her way to deliver the gifts she had chosen.

"I guess I will have to come back," the young woman said sadly and started to turn away when a young father, standing behind her with his little boy, reached around her and handed me 60 dollars to pay her bill.

"Merry Christmas" he said with a huge smile. "It's the season of giving!"

"But... but .. How can I pay you back?" the young woman stammered.

"It is my great pleasure" smiled the young father.

With tears in my eyes, I wrapped the items, thinking of how many gifts had just been given ... to the young woman, to the father and his son and to me...

And it's true! "Every time a Bell rings an Angel earns his wings."
