Learn How to Take Care of Your Trees

No more “When the bough breaks”:  Find out how to care for your trees to prevent branch loss, trees toppling over and secondary damage.

The dormant winter month of January is a great time to emerge from our hibernation and come to an informative talk on proper tree care.  The informative talk, given by Bruce Crawford, tree expert and Director of Rutgers Gardens, will be hosted jointly by the Garden Club and the Rumson Shade Tree Commission.

Remember the enormous amount of tree damage the Two River area sustained during last winter’s snow storms and this summer’s hurricane?  Learn how to maintain your trees properly to minimize damage in the future. Mr. Crawford will examine simple ways residents can properly care for trees to minimize branch breakage and tree devastation.  He will focus on correct tree planting techniques, staking and tree pruning.

So mark your 2012 calendar for the January 23rd talk at Bingham Hall.  Refreshments will be served at 6:30 pm and Mr. Crawford’s lecture will begin at 7 pm sharp.
