Award-Winning Pastry Chef Joins Drifthouse by David Burke

In his remarkable career, Marx has worked as Pastry Chef at leading restaurants in New York City & New Jersey, now he's at Drifthouse

Drifthouse by David Burke, “New Jersey’s best new restaurant” according to the Star Ledger, is pleased to announce that Stuart Marx has joined its award-winning team as Pastry Chef.

“Stuart Marx is one of the premier pastry chefs I have had the privilege to work with throughout the last two decades in my various restaurants,” said Chef David Burke. “Stuart is a perfectionist in his craft and shows great enthusiasm and curiosity for what lies ahead. The sugar has rubbed off on him, as he’s an awfully sweet person as well.”

In his remarkable career, Marx has worked as Pastry Chef at numerous leading award-winning kitchens in New York and New Jersey. His professional culinary journey began after a decade in the arts and antiques business when he enrolled in the New York Restaurant School in 1997 and received his degree in Culinary Arts and Pastry Arts. His career in pastry arts began with a coveted internship with the world-renowned restaurateur and chef Jean-George Vongerichten. From there, Marx worked at the Glazier Group and the five star Garden City Hotel, Long Island. Later, he returned to New York City to take the position as Head Pastry Chef position at Odeon, the iconic Tribeca eatery. He was there for five years and then was recommended for a position with Riese Restaurant Group’s Hawaiian Tropic Zone, where he met consulting chef David Burke.
